Wix Site Transfer & Ownership

Wix Site Transfer & Ownership

When your project is complete, we’ll transfer your website into your Wix account so you can take full control. This is the final step in your web design journey — and it marks the moment where your ownership begins.

Here’s what you need to know about the transfer process, what to expect, and what we recommend doing afterward.

Why We Transfer the Site

At 10com, we believe your website should belong to you — not your designer.

Transferring your site into your Wix account gives you:

  • 100% ownership and control

  • Direct access to manage and update your website anytime

  • Full visibility over billing, connected services, and settings

Once the transfer is complete, you’re no longer dependent on us to make changes or keep your website live. It’s yours.

When Transfer Happens

We initiate the transfer after:

  • You’ve approved the final design

  • All revisions and requested changes have been completed

At this point, the project is considered complete and ready for delivery.

What You Need to Do

When we send the transfer request:

  • You’ll receive an email from Wix inviting you to accept the transfer

  • You must accept the transfer within 72 hours — otherwise, the link will expire

  • Log into your existing Wix account or create one during the process

This is the only time-sensitive step in the entire project. If the transfer request expires, we’ll need to resend it, which delays final delivery.

Once accepted, you become the official owner of your website.

Connecting Your Domain & Wix Plan

After accepting the transfer:

  • You’ll need to purchase or assign an active Wix plan to publish your site live

  • You’ll also need to connect your domain name through Wix

These steps are quick and straightforward, and we’ll provide guidance if needed.

After the Transfer: Our Recommendations

Once your site is in your account, we recommend taking a few moments to personalize your Wix settings — just like you would when getting a new phone.

Specifically, we suggest:

  • Exploring your Wix Settings area and customizing preferences

  • Reviewing contact info, notifications, or dashboard options

  • If you’re accepting payments on the site, connecting your payment processor immediately
